Paying for torture
I’ve just agreed to pay large sums of $ to have no time and be mentally tortured. At the end (after a couple of years), I hope to have my Masters!
Observations of my ever so exciting life…
I’ve just agreed to pay large sums of $ to have no time and be mentally tortured. At the end (after a couple of years), I hope to have my Masters!

Congratulations Fort Wayne Komets for winning the Turner Cup in triple OT. Thanks for bringing it home and breaking it. WOOO!! LETS GO KOMETS!!
Gas isn’t quite $4 here yet, but it keeps going up like crazy. I’m documententing it on my Tumblr here. I’m too lazy to do it here.
I’m over my espresso machine fascination. I found one semi-cheap. It’s ok, but not great. I burned my finger on the steamer, plus it’s messy. I think i’m going to take it back and just let the professionals handle it. Too much work.
I wish i could play woman’s hockey. It looks so fun!
Time to make deviled eggs for the holiday.

I can’t believe my very first mp3 player is almost 10yrs old. I bought the Special Edition for $250 in summer of 1998? for my Canada trip. It arrived after I got back.
It’s 64mb and still works. I even still have the parallel port cable! It takes forever to transfer and doesn’t like VBR encoded files.
I found an espresso maker under my kitchen cabinet. Everything looks intact. I’ve tried running water through it, but found a lot of white sentiment in the tank along with an odor. I put vinegar through it, to try to descale it, but it didn’t get much out. I’ve tried lime and lemon juce, but I think it was too pulpy and burnt some. I think it’s bust. The smell is worse and it doesn’t look good inside the tank. I’m not sure if I want to buy a new one or just keep going to starbucks. I’m not even sure how old this machine is, or where it came from.
I’m using my Tumblr to document random things throughout my day. Don’t forget to visit microwavesafe.tumblr.com
I’m too lazy to post on this blog for real. I’ve just found out about Tumblr, a micro-blogging site. It will allow me to quickly post something, usually small rants I don’t feel like putting up here. Plus my fish is on it. I’m not completely abandoning this site, I just write all day and usually do not feel like writing lost posts when I get home.
I got stuck in the elevator a couple nights ago. Nothing seemed amiss, just got on and pressed the button. It went to our floor, but the door never opened. Tried several different floors, still not opening. Held down the call button, no one from the outside came. Dan had to pry the door open and rescue us… I’m taking the stairs for a while. Our elevator has had problems before, usually if you bounce it, it will open, but not this time. It was a little disconcerting. So, now I’ve been stuck in an elevator.
Last week was slightly less than boring compared to the usual humdrum. We decided to not move. Mostly because we really can’t get a better deal, moving would suck and commuting would suck even more. So we bought a new couch. Same style as the old one, just purply brown. This is mostly so Dan can sleep on it and not take up living room space. I’m happy. We’ve also decided to spruce up the apartment some. Dan removed the kitchen cupboard doors. Once we got things arranged, it is nice. Also bought a little rack to handle some clutter.
I took Tuesday off to deal with my car and other stuff. The car took forever at the dealer and Dan got grumpy. Didn’t do too much else that day. We also decided to upgrade our Cable to HD DVR. They were supposed to come out on Friday to give us a new box. Told us the day of they didn’t have any and we have to reschedule. So hopefully by this weekend I’ll have it. Washer also broke this week. Still don’t have a replacement. Hopefully that will happen tomorrow.
Oh and are you ready to rumble? Hockey season has started!! The summer break was really short. I’m also pumped about getting HD to watch hockey in HD all season.
Colin McRae died recently in a helicopter crash. I watched him in my formative years racing Subaru in the WRC. He will be missed by many. He was an excellent driver.
In very scary, but ironic thing, the man who led tributes to McRea almost died in a helicopter crash himself. He managed to walk away.
